Place phone calls using the Pilot Voice Mobile App

There are two ways to make calls using the Pilot Voice mobile app. This guide walks you through how to do both, and offers insight on when to use one over the other.

    Introduction

Whether you’re out at customer meetings or just needed a different view than your desk, the Pilot Voice App puts your office phone in the palm of your hand. With the mobile app, you’re able to place calls as you normally would using your work extension.

There are two ways to make a phone call with the Pilot Voice App: using cellular data within the Pilot Voice app or using your mobile phone’s native calling app. In places with limited LTE coverage or no WiFi, we recommend using the “Call with mobile phone” option.

This guide walks you through how to do both.

How to Place a Call Using the Pilot Voice App

Step 1: Log in to the Pilot Voice App. Your Login Name will be in the format of extension@domain. Click on the blue keypad icon located in the lower right corner of the screen above the white menu dock to bring up the dial-pad.

Step 2: Tap the three dots at the top left of the telephone field and select “Call with Pilot Voice.”

Step 3: Select any contact from the list or type any standard 10 digit telephone number or 3-4 digit extension from your Pilot Voice phone system. Press the green call button.

Just a heads up that calls placed using the Pilot Voice app will look different than your native telephone app. Additionally, you’ll have access to in-call features such as Hold, Transfer, and Conferencing that you won’t have using your native phone app.

Step 4: Pilot Voice will call your cell phone number and once you’ve picked up, the system will attempt to call the other party.

Note that while you’ll be making the call using your native iOS or Android telephone app, your caller ID will appear as your Pilot Voice caller ID to the other party.

    Happy calling!
