Make a call from the Pilot Voice web-based softphone

This guide covers how to use the Pilot web-based softphone feature to make calls.

    Introduction

Not close to your handset? The Pilot Voice portal allows you to make calls through a web browser on your computer. Once logged in, you’ll see the SNAP mobile feature and there are three ways to start a call using it.

Dial directly from the Pilot web-based softphone feature

Step 1: Log in directly to the Pilot web-based softphone here or through the Pilot Voice portal. Your login name will be in the format of extension@domain.

Step 2: Click the SNAP mobile link at the top right of your screen. This will open a new tab, so make sure that you allow popups from this site.

Step 3: Initiate a call either by clicking on a contact’s name or selecting the dial pad.

    • To dial an existing contact, click the contact’s name. This will take you to the contact’s information. Press the phone icon to initiate a call.

    • To call using the dial pad, select the button with the plus sign at the bottom right followed by the dial pad icon. Enter the recipient’s phone number and press call.

Use the Pilot web-based softphone to call from the Pilot Voice portal contact page

Step 2: From the Contacts tab in the main navigation, locate the user you want to dial by typing their name or extension number in the search bar.

Step 3: Click the extension number, then click the Call button. Select to call using "SNAPmobile," which will launch the SNAPmobile feature in a new window (so make sure your browser allows pop-ups from the site!).

Initialize the Pilot web-based softphone to call from the contacts menu bar

Step 1:  Log in directly to the Pilot web-based softphone here or through the Pilot Voice portal.  Your login name will be in the format of extension@domain.

Step 2: Click on the Contacts menu at the bottom right of the window to reveal the full list of people on your domain.

Step 3: Use the sort filters or search bar to find the contact you want to call. Click the person’s name.

Step 4: Click the phone icon to select the right person, then click Call on the popup to confirm. Under Call using, select "SNAPmobile."

If you prefer to use the dial pad to call, click the phone icon and use the keypad to enter a number then call.

    Happy calling!
